Properties：It is a colorless flammable liquid with strong ether odor. Melting point: -69℃, Boiling point: 84~86℃, Freezing point: -58℃, Flash point: -6℃. It can be miscible with water and alcohol, soluble in Hydrocarbon solvents. It is stable, not easy to react, but in the presence of high temperature acid catalyst, decomposition will occur. Under the action of oxygen, peroxides are generated. Light and heat promote the generation of peroxides, which are unstable and decompose into aldehydes, ketones, acids and other impurities.

Uses：1,2-Dimethoxyethane is an aprotic polar solvent with excellent properties, which can be used for polar organic reactions. It can be used as gas absorbent, extraction agent and paint remover. It can also be used as solvent for resin, nitrocellulose, borane and preparation of alkali metal oxides, etc. Besides, it can be used in place of water as a non-aqueous electrolyte solvent for electrochemical devices, rechargeable batteries and electrolytic reactions of organic compounds.
