Properties:Ethylene carbonate is a colorless and odorless needle-like or plate-like crystal at room temperature. Melting point: 35~37℃, Boiling point: 247~249℃, Specific gravity: 1.3g/ml (25℃), Viscosity: 1.90mPa.s (40℃). It is slightly soluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether and ketone.

Uses:Ethylene carbonate is an excellent organic solvent and is mainly used in the following industries:
1.) Electronics industry: As a high-performance solvent, it is widely used in the production of electrolytes for lithium batteries and capacitors.
2.) Leather industry: Used as an auxiliary (solvent) in the tanning process of natural leather, and as a solvent for coating agents in the production of synthetic leather.
3.) Industrial applications: In the production of superabsorbent resins, ethylene carbonate can act as a surface crosslinking agent to enhance the crosslinking of resin particle surfaces, thereby improving resin strength, enhancing absorption under load, and reducing blockage of water absorption channels caused by overly rapid water uptake. In addition, ethylene carbonate can also be used as a chemical raw material for plastic foaming agents, stabilizers for synthetic lubricants, hydroxyethylation agents, water glass slurries, and fiber finishing agents. It is also an excellent solvent for polymers such as polyacrylonitrile and polyvinyl chloride.

Storage:Keep it in a sealed container and store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse.

Packing:250kg stainless steel drums or galvanized iron drums, IBC or ISO TANK can also be used.
