Properties：Chlorosulfonyl isocyanate is a highly corrosive colorless transparent liquid. Strong irritation to respiratory tract and skin. It is easy to absorb moisture, form smoke in the air, and react violently in water to produce sulfamic acid, hydrogen chloride and carbon dioxide. Soluble in most organic solvents. Melting point :-44~-43℃, boiling point :107~108°C. Specific gravity (g/ml) : 1.626. Refractive index :1.4435.

Uses：Chlorosulfonimide is a highly active isocyanate compound that contains both isocyanate and sulfonyl chloride groups, which gives it a wide range of chemical reactivity. The isocyanate group can react with hydroxyl, amino, and carboxyl groups to form urethanes, ureas, and amides, among other derivatives. The sulfonyl chloride group, on the other hand, allows it to participate in other reactions, such as free radical addition reactions with alkenes or the generation of products that retain the isocyanate group upon heating with alcohol, which can then undergo further reactions. 

Furthermore, this compound reacts with dimethyl sulfoxide to form an unstable intermediate, which can serve as a mild oxidizing agent to oxidize alcohols to aldehydes or ketones. In recent years, chlorosulfonimide has been used not only for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds but also as a dehydrating agent to dehydrate amides to form nitriles. 

In practical applications, chlorosulfonic isocyanate is widely used in various fields due to its active chemical properties. In the medical field, it is used in the synthesis of antibiotics such as cefuroxime, ceftodixime, and marcipretin for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension; in the agricultural field, it is used in the synthesis of herbicides such as pyribambulin and benzimsulfuron; in addition, it is also used in the preparation of paper additives and the preparation of lithium battery electrolytes.
